2019 Christmas Decor
December 2, 2019 | Home Decor
Y’ALL, my living room is basically starting to feel like a forest, and I am totally living for it! I have been digging deep, and channeling my inner Hallmark designer to get ready for this amazing season that is upon us!
I’ve always heard that Christmas loses it’s spark once you’re an adult. I don’t know about you, but I’m either not old enough to feel that way or those people are crazy for telling me that nonsense!
Sure it’s not the same as being totally surprised by Santa leaving gifts underneath the tree, but Christmas only gets more exciting and enjoyable for me. Maybe I’m just determined for it not to change, who knows!
I do what I can to keep the excitement during this holiday season, as for many it can quickly turn into the darkest time of year. This is a topic I plan on discussing in an upcoming blog post. However, one of the biggest ways I get in the spirit is by decorating of course!
While I am typically all about sticking to a tight budget, this Christmas I kind of got carried away and spent some money I had been saving up. Below I have listed some of my faves, along with the links in case you’re interested (;
All good Christmas decor centers around the perfect tree. I was able to get a new tree this year, and I am beyond excited about it! I was planning on getting a flocked tree as they seem to be all the rage with the farmhouse style.
In all honesty I had found the perfect one at Hobby Lobby that was a little pricey, but I was determined. However, God had different plans. That was the ONLY tree that they were sold out of. This made me look around.
My mom had told me she had seen some nice ones at Walmart, and I decided to give it a try. Although I was hesitant at first, I was happily surprised with not only the assortment of trees but also the quality of them. I ended up finding the perfect tree, and it wasn’t a flocked tree!
This tree also happened to be $100 less than the one I found at Hobby Lobby, so that’s always nice! This tree is 7.5 feet tall which is perfect for our 8ft ceilings. It has a mixture of pine cones, red berries, ice crystals, and glitter! This gives it a gorgeous shine when lit up! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Holiday-Time-Pre-Lit-Glittering-Frost-Pine-Christmas-Tree-7-5-Warm-White-LED/150632199
Thankfully it was also a pre-lit tree. It looked very thin and branchy when it was first taken out of the box, but it ended up being so full once I fanned out the branches. The ornaments however are all from Hobby Lobby. I’ve collected a mixture over the past two years. I will try to leave links of the ones they still have in stock. https://www.hobbylobby.com/Christmas/Floral-Arrangements/Picks/Red-&-Gold-Glitter-Poinsettia-Pick/p/80831525
As you can tell I tried to still implement the white theme along with some gold and red. This color scheme to me is a classic Christmas look. The only thing I am missing is a tree topper!! Dylan and I are very picky so we will find one when the time is right! https://www.hobbylobby.com/Christmas/Ornaments/Basic-Ornaments/White-Glitter-Sequin-Ball-Ornaments/p/80650147
These next two little nuggets are also new to my collection this year. The idea was to put them on my front porch to have a little decor outside. However, once I set them up I discovered they looked perfect in my living room by my tv, ha! It added a lot to my plain wall, so I think I’m just going to leave them inside. Oh well!
These two were also found at Walmart. It comes as a set of two, and are extremely easy to set up. I pretty much took them out of the box, and fanned out the branches and that was that. Super cute and super simple, and unintentionally added to my indoor decor. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Holiday-Time-Prelit-Bronze-Conical-Christmas-Trees-set-of-2-3-5-ft/53085570
Another idea I had was to install these cute buckets from Hobby Lobby. This was a quick and easy way to decorate this ginormous wall. I change out floral arrangements with every season, and it instantly gives the room a new feel. https://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Painting-Surfaces/Metal/Galvanized-Metal-Half-Round-Wall-Bucket/p/80875337
These two floral sets were also found at Hobby Lobby. Most of the time I like to make my own arrangements, but I found these bundles pre-made and loved the way they looked! https://www.hobbylobby.com/Christmas/Floral-Arrangements/Picks/Frosted-Pine-Branch-Pick/p/80939354
Last but not least, the coffee table center piece! I have a light neutral bowl that was given to me as a wedding gift. It is from a store called Tuesday Morning. Like the floral arrangements, I find little pieces to put into this bowl that changes with the seasons. I got these specifically at Hobby Lobby in a potpourri bundle. https://www.hobbylobby.com/Christmas/Candles-Fragrance/Potpourri/Snowflake-Frosted-Pinecone-Mix/p/80889123
It is pleasing to the eye as well as filling the room with the fresh scent of winter. This is a small touch that makes the room feel so complete.
